Smarty-pants

There was one big question that was eating Smarty day and night: Why? The question popped up one ordinary morning when he had just woken up. At his table in front of his bowl of oatmeal, he suddenly wondered why he had to eat? Smarty blinked in surprise. What a remarkable question, he thought. The Butterfly Project

There’s no such thing as monsters, daddy always tells us. Kids just have a better imagination than grown ups do and we shouldn’t watch so many scary movies. But I know who lurk in the dark. From the corner of my eye I see them moving, just beyond where the light reaches. Mommy always comes to my room and sits with me. She chats a bit and tells me happy stories.

Louis & Josephine

Louis remembers like it was yesterday. With his eyes closed he can still see her in that club in Paris, almost a lifetime ago. At the bar they literally bumped into each other and got talking. He was an explorer and proud owner of a hot air balloon. She thought he was funny and charming, she later told him. And an amazing dancer, something she rarely saw in a man.
